Welcome

To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, & don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest.

Where The Magic Happens

I was reading an Artist Feature on my most favorite blog, http://restlessheartsyonder.blogspot.com/ and I got inspired to share pics of my workspace with you.

I got a new kitchen table and so I moved the old one into my husband's media room and made it my craft space.  He was very gracious to share his space with me, because we can't get enough of each other, and being in the same room together is comforting. :)  He sits right behind me playing Call Of Duty 4.

These are some projects I've been working on and am about to work on.  I got these wicked cool howlite skull beads and I'm having so much fun designing pieces around them.  :)

There is a window to the left of where I sit.  I get a lot of natural light and also a view of my front yard.

Thanks for taking the time to take a look! :)

A Spider Builds His Web At Sunset

This spider has been a regular nocturnal visitor in our backyard.  He builds his web right over the steps from the patio into the yard.  It's built just high enough that my husband and I can walk under it without disturbing the web or the spider.  The photos don't show the web, but instead I like to think the photos show the spider magically suspended in the  night sky, just after the sun has set.

And then there's this huge spider who has laid her egg sac in our carport near the ceiling, while she has built her massive web near the floor.  My husband and I are careful not to disturb her web or her babies.  I just adore nature and the beauty in it.

My Favorite Cookies

Hi Friends!  I wanted to share my favorite cookie recipe with you.  Enjoy!!

No-Bake Cookies

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 T cocoa powder
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
3 cups quick oats

In a medium sauce pan, stir together first four ingredients over medium heat.  Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.  Let boil for about 1 minute and remove from heat.  Add final three ingredients and stir until combined.  Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper laid out on your counter top.  Allow to 'set up' for about an hour, then enjoy thoroughly!!  :)

If you try this recipe, please let me know how you like them!  Thanks!!

I Love October!

Here is a pic of the pumpkin I carved for Halloween 2008.  It's the Death Star!  The second photo is of the winning display for the Pumpkin Carving Contest at work.  If you'll notice, my prized Death Star pumpkin just destroyed a pumpkin planet!

As My First Blog Post, I'll Introduce Myself

Hello!  And welcome to my blog.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

My name is Marcy Grabbert.  I'm a transplanted Texan, originally from Illinois.

I am passionate about the things I create, jewelry, cakes, and whatever's for dinner!  I am very proud of my jewelry and I am evolving all the time in my creations.  I consider each piece a work of art, as individual and unique as you and me!

I also thoroughly enjoy watching and going to movies, listening to a wide array of music, cooking and baking (which I also consider works of art) as well as spending every moment possible with my husband of 11 years and our beautiful, goof-ball dogs, Heidi and Ruby.

I pray for peace and love in our world and in the hearts and minds of all us human beings!

<3,
Marcy
